In life, 1 in 4 of us will experience mental health problems such as anxiety or depression, whilst all of us will face difficulties and losses within our family and personal relationships. Counselling can help us to understand and respond differently to our anxiety, panic, depression, relationship problems, bereavement, low self-worth, anger, or addiction, within a safe, supportive relationship.
I have worked as a counsellor for 13 years, working within mental health; substance misuse; domestic abuse, relationship counselling and employee support services. I have worked in my own private practice for 9 years, supporting both individuals and couples. I am also a qualified couple's counsellor.
I am Accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP Accred.), where I work within their professional and ethical framework.
Please contact me for a free, no obligation telephone consultation and I will be happy to call you back.
If your issue is not listed here then please request a call back to explore how we can work together.
Counselling helps by providing an accepting, understanding and supportive relationship, where you can be heard without being shamed, judged, or rejected.
When our old responses of blocking out, ignoring, overthinking or criticising are no longer working, counselling helps us to recognise and change these responses.
Counselling also helps us to explore how significant events or relationships have affected us, so that we can then choose how to relate to ourselves and others' differently.
Through counselling we can start to restore trust in ourselves that it's never too late to change; we only need to learn how.
I am based in central Hillsborough at:
Wellspring Complementary Health Centre,
22a Holme Lane,
Counselling can take place either face to face or over the internet through Skype.
